Wanted suspect apprehended

The alert officers of the Linden Police Department and Cass County Sheriff ’s Office received an alert a little after 7 a.m. on Oct. 26, regarding a vehicle connected to a missing person investigation.

The vehicle was said to be traveling southbound on State Highway 59 in Queen City.

Both LPD and CCSO coordinated with one another after both agencies received the same notification.

A combined effort from officers from both agencies responded to U.S. Highway 59 in an effort to locate the vehicle.

At approximately 7:25 a.m., the vehicle was located, and a felony traffic stop was conducted near U.S. 59 and State Highway 155.

The driver, identified as Jessica Martinez (a.k.a. Jessica Resendiz), was detained without incident.

Martinez was wanted in Garland for assault of a pregnant person.

Detectives from Garland are now working with local authorities to continue the investigation.
