Griggs has a scheduled pretrial hearing
James Griggs is charged in the shooting death of DeVatae Robinson back in May of this year along with Zachary Grissom.
Griggs is charged with murder and Grissom is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Griggs and Grissom were identified as suspects in the case after numerous interviews by police, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Griggs is out on bail but has a pretrial hearing Nov. 3 in Cass County District Court.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Griggs and Grissom drove by Robinson’s residence on Grigsby Street and saw him outside his home.
The pair stopped in front of Robinson’s house and Griggs and Robinson had words with one another.
When Robinson responded, Griggs allegedly pulled a pistol from inside the vehicle and began firing at Robinson, according to the affidavit.
