Football Preview Week 3

Atlanta at New Boston

Atlanta travels to New Boston this Friday night for a battle with the Lions.

These two teams have been playing one another since 1925 and Atlanta holds a 53-16-2 lead in the series.

During the almost 100 years the two schools have played one another on the gridiron Atlanta has had the longest win streaks which include 10 straight, 13 straight and 16 consecutive.

Up until two years ago the Rabbs had beaten the Lions seven consecutive years and has only lost to New Boston four times since 1986.

Atlanta eeked out a 21-14 win last year. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.

Linden-Kildare at Hughes Springs

Linden-Kildare plays county rival Hughes Springs this Friday night on the road in the Highway11 Battle.

These two teams played consistently from 1931 to 1987. After that the teams did not play again until 2000.

L-K has a 42-23-3 series lead against the Mustangs. Since the turn of the century the teams have played one another 17 consecutive years.

Hughes Springs has won 11 of those 17 games. Over the course of the rivalry L-K has enjoyed two 8-game win streaks and one seven game win streak. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

Queen City at Elysian Fields

Queen City travels to Elysian Fields this Friday night as the Bulldogs square off against the Yellowjackets. QC leads the all-time series 10-8 but the Yellowjackets have won the last seven contests.

At one time the Bulldogs had an eight-game winning streak over Elysian Fields. QC lost by a slim 24-21 margin last year. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
