Football Sidelines
To borrow a phrase, “it takes a community” to support Friday Night Football in Queen City. This is taking place at the school’s football stadium on game night.
Take a walk around, especially before the game and one can see an awful lot going on along the sidelines or just inside the ticket gate. It’s like a festival.
A number of adults are manning tables and concession stands to raise money for various school projects and student “extras.”
Some of ones seen Friday were the band program, the ag department, medical and health aides, tickets and programs, student contests and spirit games. Then one adds all the electronic items for video, broadcast and public announcing.
Add next the officials, referees, press box, emergency and crowd control helpers. Of course there is the music, drums and noise which goes on continually. The scene is one of entertainment, not just football.
Let it be known, if one wants to have a good time, see friends, support youth and be amazed at what young people can accomplish, go to the Friday night game. This photographer did recently, and here are some of the things he noticed.
