Wilson headed to Nashville

You don’t hear of too many local pageants like you used to. County pageants, county fair pageants, a pageant named after an event.

The pageant setting is scarce unless you know the scene.

Shamranique McCauley knows the scene well as she takes her 3-year-old daughter Sa’Mari Raelynn Wilson around the region to different pageants.

Recently Wilson competed in the America’s Best Preliminary Pageant in Texarkana winning the highest title Mega Elite Supreme along with other awards such as Americas Best Brand Ambassador, Best Smile, Most Beautiful, runner-up for Most Creative Performance, 0-3 years high score Buddy Award, top five overall scorer age 0-19 years, Mega Supreme and overall mega High Point Scorer.

That’s pretty impressive and that list plus other accolades is longer than Wilson is tall.

She has amassed more awards than can be counted. “She has been in pageants since my mother entered her in one at three weeks old,” McCauley said. “She entered her in the Wildflower Trails Pageant and she won. She’s been winning ever since.”

In addition to her win recently, Wilson has also received the title of Toddler Miss Cass County and earned a chance to compete at Toyfest Nationals in Nashville, Tenn. on Sept. 5-7 where she will represent Cass County.

McCauley said that this would be the furthest they have had to travel but they are really excited.

“The furthest we’ve traveled is to Little Rock, so we are very excited she gets to compete in Nashville,” McCauley remarked. “But it’s not over after the Tennessee trip. When we get back, she will compete in Shreveport.”

America’s Best Preliminary Pageant moves around the region and has different themes each time.

Wilson rocked the Tropical Barbie Pageant theme this last time.

“For these pageants they can wear simple clothing or dazzling clothing for the different themed events,” Mc-Cauley added. “We buy her extra clothing in case someone else has the same outfit when we arrive.”

Sa’Mari must sell 100, $10 Goodluck tickets in order to waive her entry fee for the Nashville show. If you’d like to help/donate payment can be taken in forms of cashapp $ShamraniqueM, Venmo @shamranique and or chime $shamranique-Mccauley.

Sa’Mari’s parents, McCauley and Sabien Wilson, look forward to seeing their young daughter captivate audiences and judges alike with her strong character and natural talent.

“These pageants give her a perfect setting to showcase her personality and that’s her best feature,” McCauley said. “America’s Best Pageant promotes community involvement and good citizenship which ultimately is Sa’Mari’s goal to bring home the National title for Cass County.”
