Woman faces manslaughter charge

Stephanie Fannin of Karnack is facing an intoxication manslaughter charge after she failed to negotiate a curve, ran into a tree line and her passenger died from his injuries.

Her passenger, Matthew Sherman of Linden, died at the scene on State Highway 8 in Bowie County on June 29.

Fannin was traveling south in a Ford F150 pickup truck when the accident occurred.

She is being held in the Bi-State jail in Texarkana with her bail set at $1.5 million.
