Wanda Kay Thompson

February 4, 1942 - July 5, 2025

Kay Thompson, age 83, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 5, 2025. She was born February 4, 1942 in Delhi, Louisiana to Meriman and Evelyn Ritchie Fryday. Kay attended Atlanta Church of God and was an avid quilter, knitter and reader. She enjoyed traveling and loved roller coasters but most of all, she adored her family.

Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Don Thompson; grandson, Donovan Dupree; and her parents.

She is survived by three daughters, Kim Wilson and husband Bubba of Bivins, Texas, Tammy Thompson of Atlanta, Texas, Mona Dupree and husband Robbie of Atlanta, Texas; one brother, Larry Fryday and wife Linda of Bastrop, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Lucas Wilson (Jamie), Kirby Washington (Bobby), Matthew Dupree (Diego), Cade Dupree; six great grandchildren, Rylea Wilson, Ayden Washington, Kimberlynn Washington, Reece Dupree, Jaxon Dupree, Evelyn Washington; special friends, Gay Ethridge, Chubbins; special caregiver, Deborah Norton; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Hanner Funeral Service, with Bro. Chris Miller officiating.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Hanner Funeral Service.
