Suspect ‘trashes’ bag of evidence
On April 7, 2025, while on patrol, a Linden Police officer observed a vehicle with a headlight out. The officer followed the vehicle to the Family Dollar parking lot in an attempt to make contact with the driver. As the vehicle parked, the officer noticed what appeared to be trash thrown from the window.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the “trash” was actually illegal narcotics that had been discarded. The driver, identified as Randall McCoy, admitted that the narcotics were his.
A more detailed search revealed that the narcotics consisted of a bag containing smaller bags filled with a white crystalline substance.
As a result of the investigation, McCoy was arrested and transported to the Cass County Detention Center, where he was charged with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, as well as Tampering with Evidence.
