Sheppard denied appeal

On Mar. 13, Hardy Sheppard, a former officer with the Atlanta Independent School District Police Department, attended a special Board of Trustees meeting with his attorney Butch Dunbar, arguing that he was wrongfully terminated.
Sheppard was fired last year after former coach, Taureaus Maxwell, was arrested and convicted of inappropriately touching students and using Snapchat to exchange photos.
Sheppard filed a grievance but the board voted unanimously to deny Sheppard’s appeal.
Dunbar believes that the administration is to blame, especially since a proper background check on Maxwell was never done.
Sheppard says he will appeal to the Texas Education Agency next.
