ATLANTA BASEBALL

Atlanta’s varsity baseball team kicked off its season with an 11-0 win over Evangel Christian Academy on Feb. 17.

The Rabbs scored six runs in the first three innings and five over innings five and six to complete the victory.

Peyton Harrison gave up two hits and struck out seven over three innings of work, Easton Patterson struck out three over two innings and Easton Whatley gave up a hit and sat down a better over one inning of relief.

From the plate Harrison had two hits with two RBIs, Brady Partain added two hits with two RBIs, Easton Owens posted an RBI single, Jaden Riley hit an 2-RBI triple, Chris Hale hit an RBI single, Huntley Fisher added ab RBI, Eli Mitchell was 2-for-2 with a double and Evan Mitchell hit a 2-RBI double.

The Rabbs took part in the Elysian Fields tournament on Feb. 20-22.

Game One

In the first contest Atlanta beat Beckville 8-1.

Easton Patterson gave up just two hits and sat down three over four innings. Eli Mitchell pitched a near-perfect two innings of relief as he gave up one walk, no hits and fanned four.

Peyton Harrison was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Easton Owens added a singe with two RBIs, Cason Whatley was 2-for-2 with a triple and two ribbies, Huntley Fisher was 2-for-3 with a double and a ribeye, Peyton Gaston added an RBI and Evan Mitchell, Brady Partain, Mitchell and Jaden Riley all posted singles.

Game Two

In the second game of the tourney the Rabbs fell to White Oak 4-2. Peyton Harrison and Peyton Gaston each had one RBI, Eli Mitchell added a double and Easton Owens and Evan Mitchell posted singles.

ATLANTA SOFTBALL

Atlanta’s varsity softball team took on county rival Linden- Kildare on Feb. 11. When the dust had settled the Lady Rabbs posted a 17-4 victory over the Lady Tigers.

L-K scored four runs in the top of the first inning but Atlanta upped that by one with a 5-run outburst in the bottom half of the first frame.

Atlanta scored 12 runs over the next three innings and the game was called on the mercy rule.

Gabby Arredondo gave up four hits and struck out six from the circle for the Lady Rabbs.

Carlajah Adger was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Aleesha Parkman added a hit, Kiersten Underwood was 2-for-4 with six RBIs, a triple and a homerun, Anna Davis was 2-for-4 with a double and a triple, Ella Garrett was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs, Gabby Petrofsky added a hit, Arredondo was 2-for-4 with a double and a ribbie and Lakeyn Wooten hit an RBI single.

The Lady Rabbs took part in the Marshall Tournament on Feb. 13-15.

Game One

In the first game the Lady Rabbs were edge 8-7 by Spring Hill.

Sarah Blake hit an RBI double, Aleesha Parkman added a single with two ribbies, Brylee Fiscus had two hits with a double and two RBIs, Anna Davis hit a single and Gabby Arredondo had two hits with a double.

Game Two

In the second game the Lady Rabbits bounced back and topped host Marshall 8-5.

Carlajah Adger hit a single, Sarah Blake hit an RBI single, Aleesha Parkman added a single, Keirsten Underwood had an RBI, Ella Garrett hit an RBI single, Gabby Petrofsky hit an RBI single and Gabby Arredondo hit a 3-run homer.

Game Three

In the third contest Atlanta tied New Diana 5-5 as time expired on the match.

Carlajah Adger hit a solo homerun and a triple, Brylee Fiscus hit a triple, Ella Garrett hit a single and both Anna Davis and Gabby Arredondo hit RBI singles.

Game Four

In the fourth match the Lady Rabbits lost to Longview 15-4. Gabby Arredondo had two hits with a solo homerun, Carlajah Adger hit a double, Brylee Fiscus had an RBI, Sarah Blake and Aleesha Parkman hit RBI singles and both Ella Garrett and Gabby Petrofsky hit singles.

On Feb. 18 the Lady Rabbs dominated Ore City 17-2. There were no stats available for this contest.

On Feb. 20-22 the Lady Tigers took part in the Lady Rabb Classic.

Game One

In game one of the tournament Atlanta topped Pittsburg 7-3 as Gabby Arredondo gave up just two hits with six strikeouts.

Carlajah Adger hit two double and brought in three runs, Anna Davis hit a double, Ella Garrett was 2-for-2 with a homerun and two RBIs and Arredondo hit a double.

Game Two

In the second match Atlanta crushed Gladewater 10-1. Gabby Arredondo gave up three hits over three frames and Lakeyn Wooten gave up a hit and sat down two in one inning of relief.

Carlajah Adger hit an RBI double, Sarah Blake added an RBI single, Aleesha Parkman posted two ribbies, Brylee Fiscus hit two doubles, Keirsten Underwood had two hits with a double and two RBIs, Anna Davis recorded a RBI single, Ella Garrett was 2-for-3 with a double and a ribeye, Wooten added an RBI and both Arredondo and Gabby Petrofsky recorded singles.

Game Three

The third game was a classic between county foes as Atlanta topped McLeod 4-3.

The Lady Longhorns were up 3-0 after the first frame but Atlanta walked it off in the fourth inning as they plated four runs to complete the comeback.

Gabby Arredondo gave up three hits and struck out six over four innings. Anna Davis hit an RBI double, Brylee Fiscus added an RBI, Aleesha Parkman posted two hits, Sarah Blake hit a single and Carlajah Adger hit a single.

LINDEN-KILDARE SOFTBALL Linden-Kildare’s varsity softball team blanked district foe Avery on Feb. 11 by a score of 13-0.

The Lady Tigers were up 2-0 after the first frame and scored three in the third to go up 5-0. L-K added an 8-run fourth inning to seal the shutout.

Callie Johnson was on fire from the circle as she pitched a shutout over five innings and struck out 10 of the 18 batters she faced.

Kalysa Roberts hit an RBI double from the dish, Ja’maiya Mack hit an RBI single, Allyssa Dixon added two hits with a double, Johnson hit a double, Olivia Stewart posted a hit with two ribeyes, Allie Watson hit an RBI single, Autumn Montoya raked four hits with an RBI and Lynlee Lejeune hit two double and had three RBIs.

On Feb. 20-22 the Lady Tigers took part in the Lady Rabb Classic.

Game One

In the first match the Lady Tigers edged James Bowie 4-2. Callie Johnson scattered five hits and sat down seven.

From the dish Johnson hit an RBI triple, Kalysa Roberts added an RBI single, Allyssa Dixon posted a single, Olivia Stewart hit an RBI single, Autumn Montoya hit a single and Lynlee LeJeune recorded two hits.

Game Two

L-K beat Pittsburg 9-2 but no stats were available.

Game Three

The Lady Tigers dispatched Liberty-Eylau 19-3 in just four innings. L-E took a 3-0 lead into the second frame where L-K torched them for seven runs.

The Lady Tigers added 12 more runs over the next two innings to complete the barrage.

Ada Whatley gave up two hits over four innings and sat down three.

Kalysa Roberts hit a double and had two RBIs, Zaliyah Mitchell hit a triple and had two ribbies, Allyssa Dixon added two RBIs, Olivia Stewart posted a triple with two ribeyes, Allie Watson was 3-for-4 with four RBIs and fell just a homerun short of the cycle, Jacee Quaid added an RBI and Whatley, Lynlee LeJeune and Autumn Montoya each had RBI singles.

QUEEN CITY BASEBALL

Queen City’s baseball team topped East Texas Home School 9-3 on Feb. 21.

The Bulldogs took a commanding 7-0 lead into the bottom half of the fourth frame and scored two more insurance runs in the sixth after ETHS plated three runs to pull within four.

Brady Majors and Noah Young shared time on the hill, Derell Sewell hit a single from the dish, Brayden Wiley hit an RBI double, both Mason Satterfield and Brady Majors hit singles and drove in two runs and both Christian Brown and Cayden Dawson hit RBI singles.
