Artificials and live bait ring the dinner bell for whites

White bass are voracious feeders that will readily pounce on a variety of baits, artificial or live.

Among the best artificials small spinners like Roadrunners or Beetle Spins and small jigs. Rat-L-Traps and small crankbaits also work well. Best colors can vary from one day to the next. Orange, bone or chrome are hard to beat The most popular live baits are small crawfish and minnows. Both work well when allowed to tumble across bottom with a weight. They can also be deadly when used to “tip” a Roadrunner or small jig.
