AMS boys’ bounce the Bears

The eighth-grade boys overcame a slow start by scoring nineteen points in the third quarter and outscoring the DeKalb Bears 32-10 in the second half en route to a 42-26 victory.
Aiden Shields netted twelve for the winners, and Ayden Washington scored ten, including two three-pointers. Levi Cook scored six, as did Hardy Sheppard who also added several blocks and boards.
Gaven Bumphus (four points) and Kelvin Roberson (three points) caused chaos on the defensive end, getting several steals and deflections. AMS 8A is now 7-1 on the year and 6-0 in district play.
7A
The seventh-grade boys were also slow out of the gate but utilized an 11-2 run in the second quarter on their way to a 36-19 win.
J’Kyron Anderson paced the Rabbits with fifteen points (two three-pointers), while Zay Smith tallied eight. JT McNeal scored five and filled the stat line with multiple blocks and rebounds. AMS 7A is now 8-0 on the season and 6-0 in district play.
B Teams
The 8B team dropped a nail biter 15-16. Cordemion Roquemore led the Rabbs with eight points. The 7B team prevailed 16-11. Trey Johnson scored five, Jaxson Taylor four, Greyson Charleston three, and Janson Wylie two, along with several steals and deflections. The Rabbits host Liberty-Eylau Jan. 30 with four games beginning at 4:30 p.m.
