AMS boys’ defeat the Dragons
8A
After jumping out to a 30-1 halftime lead, the Atlanta Middle School eighth grade boys used the second half to work on various aspects of the game, winning by a final score of 46-10.
Ayden Washington led all scorers with eleven and had several steals and assists. Aiden Shields scored eight (all in the first half) and Hardy Sheppard was a menace on the defensive end with several blocks and added eight points on the offensive end.
The eighth grade Rabbs improved to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in district play.
7A
J’Kyron Anderson put on an offensive display during the seventh-grade contest, leading all scorers with nineteen, as the seventh-grade team rolled to a 5716 victory.
Cruz Crosby netted 12 for the Rabbs and Zay Smith added 11. Coaches praised the effort of Jayden Moore (four points) on both ends of the floor; JT McNeal also added six and Rylan Buford four.
AMS seventh grade is now 7-0 overall and 5-0 in district.
7B/8B
Riley Sutton led a combined B Team effort, scoring seven points as the Rabbits defeated the Dragons 29-0.
Jayden Crenshaw added six, as nine Rabbits in total found their way into the boxscore including: Cordemion Roquemore, Jaiden Finley, Janson Wylie, Gavin Conejo, Heath James, Mekai Martin, and Greyson Charleston. The B teams remain undefeated on the year.
The Rabbits head to DeKalb on Jan. 23 with four games beginning at 4:30 p.m.
