James and Maggie Thomas had 10 children, and the last six children are chronicled in this article.

James Thomas Morgan and Margrett Catherine “Maggie” Delaney were married on 29 Aug 1872 in Franklin County, Arkansas.

Maggie Morgan lived to be almost 100 years old. They had ten children: 5. Lucy Morgan was born 22 Aug 1883 in Crawford County, Arkansas, died 05 Oct 1958 in Wharton County. Texas. She married Samuel Columbus “Lum” Norwood on 25 Dec 1901, and they had seven children: (1) Mora Norwood, born Oct 1902, died Jan 1908; (2) Violet Norwood, born 09 Aug 1904, married Edward Robert “Buster” Mooney and had three children: Mary Katherine Mooney, Edward Lane Mooney, and Paddy Sue Moone.; (3) Sylvia Norwood, born 09 Oct 1906, married Ernest Ray Dancer, had three children: Jessie Morgan Dancer, Stella Rae Dancer, and James Wesley Dancer.; (4) Joyce Norwood, born 24 May 1909, married Earl William Petersen on 17 Jan 1941. No children; (5) Hardy Franklin Norwood, born 25 Sep 1911. married Effie Mae Litton on 26 Oct 1933 and had three children: John Franklin Norwood. Marie Norwood, and Grade Kay Norwood.; (6) Hazel Norwood, born 02 Dec 1913, married Hughland Harwell “Bully” Ray, and had five children: Samuel Franklin Ray, Steve Clinton Ray, Elton Lynn Ray. Linda Lou Ray. and Terry Neal Ray.; and (7) John Thomas Norwood, born 23 Apr 1924. married Ethel Lena “Dollie” Chudalla on 17 Oct 1948 and had one child: Patricia Joyce Norwood. Dollie died 08 May 1958 and Thomas married Frances Carroll on 10 Sep 1960.

6. George Thomas “Georgie” Morgan was born 29 Jul 1886 in Red River County. Texas, and died on 05 Aug 1957 in Cass County, buried Hughes Springs Cemetery. He married Myrtie Eunice Ray on 28 Mar 1909, and they had fourteen children: (1) Thomas Melvin Morgan, born 08 Jan 1910, died 04 Mar 1979. He married (1) Bertha Wilkerson and had two children: Thomas Ray Morgan and James Harold Morgan. He married (2) Grace Blanton, and they had one child: Melva Jean Morgan.; (2) Ruby Mae Morgan, born 19 Feb 1911. died 12 Feb 1996. She married Sylvanous Holmes “Pug” Adams and had two children: Erma Louise Adams, and Weldon Holmes Adams.; (3) Ovie Alvin “Piney” Morgan, born 14 Feb 1913, died 10 Aug 1987. He married Augusta Perry, and they had three known children: Roger Morgan, Judy Ann Morgan, and Michael Morgan.; (4) Minnie Ray Morgan, born 29 May 1914, died 15 May 2001. She married Claude V. “C.V,” Bullington and had five children: Wayne Edwin Bullington, Gerrell Glenn Bullington, Clauda Venita Bullington, Janet Joyce Bullington, and Larry Loyce Bullington (twin to Janet).; (5) Ida Faye Morgan, born 06 Mar 1916, married Vance E. Leftwich.; (6) Maggie Louella Morgan, born 29 Oct 1917, died 27 M 1918.; (7) Vema Rhea Morgan, born 06 May 1919, died in 1980, married Gene Ratliff and had two children: Wanda Jean Ratliff and Donald Max Ratliff.; (8) Audrey Catherine “Tippie” Morgan, born 20 Nov 1920, died in 1999. She married Charles Powell, and they had three children: Dennis Powell, George Powell, and Dale Powell.; (9) Hazel Hulene Morgan, born 08 May 1922, died 14 Sep 1994. She married Zeddie Buck on 31 Aug 1940 and had two children: Troy Buck and Lynn Buck.; (10) Barbara JoNell Morgan, born 18 Mar 1926. She married Darwyn Strickland and had two sons: Phillip Strickland and Bobby Strickland. Jo married (2) Leldon Mathis.; (11) Edith Floy Morgan, born 21 Sep 1928. She married John Philpott and had two daughters: Jonette Philpott and Betty Lynn Philpot. She married (2) Gene Barnett; (12) James Patman “Pat1’ Morgan, born 25 Apr 1930. He married Ruth Helen McBurnett and had two sons: Randall “Randy” Morgan and Keith Morgan. Pat married (2) Jerri Moss.; (13) Tommy Gene Morgan, born 03 Dec 1932. died 24 Dec 1999. He married Kay Bannister and had two children.; and (14) Jimmy Dale Morgan, born 13 Apr 1935, died 29 Apr 1952, single.

7. John Ambrose “Johnny” Morgan was born 13 Dec 1888 in Texas, died 05 Mar 1951 in Cass County, buried Shelton-Rankin Cemetery. Johnny married Vada Lee O’Rand, and they had five children: (1) Zeo Maggie Catherine Morgan, born 09 Feb 1913.; (2) Cleo Ruth Morgan, born 31 Oct 1915. Married James E. “Buddy” Story on 03 Aug 1938. and had three known children: Bennie Lou Morgan, James Allen Story, and Catherine Story.; (3) Lura Mae Morgan, born 30 Sep 1918.; (4) Noble Oline Morgan. born 13 Sep 1923; and (5) Johnnie Joyce Morgan, born 16 Feb 1937, died 05 Nov 1937.

8. William Taylor “Willie” Morgan was born 02 Mar 1891 and died 06 Oct 1977 in Linden, buried in Concord Cemetery. He married (1) Lydia Fitzgerald, and (2) Emma Jewel Tucker. He had no children.

9. Maggie Barbara Morgan was born in Apr 1894 and died in 1918, buried in Concord Cemetery. Barbara married Sneed Stanton O’Rand and may have had as six children, only one of whom lived to adulthood: Lydia Christine O’Rand, born 20 Feb 1912, died 25 Apr 1988. Christine was married to Laney Elmer Johnson and had four children: Laney Johnson, Lydia Johnson, a son, name unknown, and Vira Johnson; plus, five previously unmarked graves beside Barbara’s grave that now are marked by a small slab with “O’Rand” only. These five would include two found in the birth records as Raleigh O’Rand, born 16 Jul 1913, and Male Baby O’Rand, born 18 Jan 1917.

10. James Edgar Morgan was born 25 Apr 1899 and died on 01 Nov 1971, buried in Hughes Springs. Edgar married (1) Viva Oretta Roberson. They had five children: (1) Frances Nelwyn Morgan, born 09 Oct 1923. She married William Frankford “Frankie” Berry on 07 Jan 1944 and had six children: Constance Nelwyn Berry, Jerry Don Berry, Rhena Beth Berry, Joey Frankford Berry, Timothy Morgan Berry, and Jimmy Darrell Berry.; (2) Kenneth James Morgan, born 19 Mar 1926. He married Bobbie Lou Vinson and the}’ had three known children: Tony Kent Morgan, .Tames Mark Morgan, and Vinson Kyle Morgan.;

(3) Mae Don Morgan, born 01 Dec 1928. She married Thomas Winford “Tom” Dudley and had three children: Oretta Ann Dudley, Tommy D. Dudley, and Susan D. Dudley.; (4) Marvin Glynn Morgan, born 10 Jul 1933. He married Billie Jean Carter on 12 Nov 1952, and they had three children: Marvelyn Mae Morgan, Sherry Inez Morgan, and Clint Glynn Morgan.: and (5) Thomas Wayne Morgan, born 30 Jun 1939. He married Ann Durham on 04 Jul 1957, and had two sons: Ricky Wayne Morgan and Rodney Lester Morgan.

Besides their own family of children, Jim Tom and Maggie helped care for a number of orphaned nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
