Kristi Overton Johnson, founder of Victorious Living magazine, speaks at prisons to deliver hope to the souls of incarcerated men and women.

Chaplain Zimmerman invited me, Brother Claude and Brother Dave to hear three amazing speakers at FCI Prison in Texarkana, Texas last week.

They had three services: morning, afternoon and at the camp. First, Kristi Johnson told her story on what brought her from being a worldwide water skier to telling inmates about Jesus Christ.

It was a great presentation. The next speaker was a retired member from the Bureau of Prisons. The third speaker was a former inmate whose motto is, From Wrong to Strong!

Julio (JC) Almanza is a fitness trainer, YouTuber and, what he calls himself today, “A Gangster for Jesus”.

They talked to about 100 inmates at the Federal Corrections Institution and answered questions afterwards.

JC grew up hard, in and out of prison. He worked for the cartel and El Chapo, the drug lord. Until one day he was introduced to the Lord. He had tried everything and now he is on fire for Jesus! Kristi had spent 35 years water-skiing competitively worldwide, never considering those who had lost their freedom, but God had a plan for this world champion water-skier to go behind bars and encourage hearts with God’s love.

Warden Johnston congratulated them on a very good job, and told them any time they wanted to return, they were welcome.
