Don’t look now but that dog is having an especially good time with Jerry Goodson at the Atlanta Local Maker Market Saturday. First, he’s the Lucky U Rescue service mascot, and, second, underneath the costume, he’s Kyle Wayne Goodson, Jerry’s son.

Makers Market

Over 50 local farmers, makers and bakers turned out to greet hundreds of interested citizens Saturday who wanted to see what was being made and happening in their local community of Atlanta, Texas.

The four hour, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Maker’s Market event was presented by Genesis Primecare and sponsored by the Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce.

The event makes wide use of downtown Atlanta with plenty of activities ranging from children’s play areas to adult antique car astonishment, food truck refreshments and especially the meeting of friends one hasn’t seen in a while.

One of the visiting vendors, when asked, commented that the Maker’s Market event was “super nice” with plenty of help and cooperation for those of us who come to participate. We enjoy it, and you can use my name in saying so,” said vendor Kim Lemley of Fouke, AR.
