Hickory Hill

Playing in their 45th year of togetherness, Hickory Hill performed for an appreciative crowd at Music City Texas in Linden Saturday. The players and their instruments are, shown from left, Milo Derring, fiddle and dobro; Ronny Stingly,mandolin; Bob Stegall,bass; John Early,guitar; Don Eaves,banjo and guitar; and Richard Bowden, B-Fender guitar. Hickory Hill is one of the state’s most popular and enduring acoustic groups. The group performs twice each year at MCT. Each concert includes a repetition of crowd favorites such as “Pecos Wind”and“Cadillac”and plenty of humorous banter between audience and performers.The band traces its history to the community of Hickory Hill a mile south of Avinger.
