From these nominations, one eighth-grade student from each middle school is chosen to receive the DAR Youth Citizenship Award.

Molly Brown of Hughes Springs Junior High School received this award on May 14 from DAR members Brinda Mandella and Greta Wright.

Ja’Koryn Love was presented this award at the Mae Luster Stephens Junior High School Awards and Advancement Celebration in Linden on May 21 from DAR members Windy Tomkins and Anita Lawson.
