Atlanta Women’s Club donates $1,000.00 towards park project

In support of planned improvements to the Atlanta City Park on Louise Street, the Atlanta Women’s Club has donated $1,000.00 to the Atlanta City Development Corporation, a non-profit community development entity, to sponsor a park bench. The new bench will be one of many seating options installed in a new sports court.

According to Miranda Johnson. the Executive Director of the Atlanta City Development Corporation, they have applied for grant funding to transform a currently vacant and unused concrete slab into a sport court and picnic area.

Following the recently completed park master plan, other planned improvements include drainage and road infrastructure, addition of public restroom facilities, improved parking and pathways throughout the park, inclusive and accessible considerations and more.

The improvements will be implemented in phases over the next three years.

“We are very grateful to the Atlanta Women’s Club and their leader, Sherry Griffin, for sharing in our vision to improve the park and supporting us with their generous donation,” sayed Johnson.

“The Atlanta Women’s Club puts forth amazing efforts to beautify and enrich our community, and they really make a difference!”
