Atlanta Public Library eclipse party
The eclipse gave the Atlanta Library an excuse to party. The librarians took it, and so “Solarfest” came to be Aril 8.
The gathering brought about 100 people to the 0utside on the grass. Free hot dogs, games and prizes were available for as many who wanted.
The reason for the enthusiasm was to emphasize how central a library is to the heart and mind of a town. Everyone feels welcome at a library. It’s a come-as-youare institutions. The library even had free sunglasses to give.
“Come to the library to get a good view, have a good time and learn something,” the library leaders seemed to say.
And so, for two and a half hours, local citizens dropped by or otherwise enjoyed the company of being happy. With others during a rare cosmic event.
