Atlanta Rabbits
Atlanta extended its winning streak to seven games after topping DeKalb 3-1 on Apr. 9.
With the win the Rabbs are 7-2 in district play and sit in first place. Eli Stevens scattered five hits and struck out four from the hill. Easton Owens was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Will Woodruff was 2-for-3 with a double, Peyton Harrison hit a single, Eli Mitchell was 2-for-2 with a ribbie and Brady Partain added a single.
On Apr. 12, the Rabbs set their winning streak at eight games with a 4-3 walkoff victory over New Boston.
With the Rabbs batting in the bottom of the seventh, Peyton Gaston was hit by a pitch before both Easton Owens and Eli Mitchell singled on bunts.
With the bases loaded Cason Whatley singled in two runs to give the Rabbs a big district win.
Eli Dryden scattered five hits and struck out seven, and teammate Will Woodruff pitched in relief.
From the plate, Woodruff was 2-for-4 with a solo homerun, Chris Hale was 2-for-3 with a double, Peyton Harrison added a couple of singles, Owens had a hit, Eli Mitchell had two knocks, Whatley hit a 2-RBI single, Evan Mitchell hit a single and Brady Partain hit a single.
On Apr. 13, the Rabbs played a non-district match against Harleton and won 7-3 over the Wildcats.
Atlanta was down 3-2 going into the final two frames but the Rabbits scored five runs to seal its ninth win in a row.
Peyton Harrison struck out three and scattered seven hits and Easton Whatley pitched an inning of relief.
Will Woodruff recorded two RBIs, Eli Mitchell, Easton Owens and Harrison added singles, Cason Whatley and Evan Mitchell posted ribbies, Chris Hale had two knocks and Brady Partain added two hits with an RBI.
Lady Rabbits
The Lady Rabbits played back-to-back games last week due to heavy rainfall wiping out a slate of games across the region.
On Apr. 11, the Lady Rabbs edged DeKalb in extras with a 7-6 win over the Lady Bears.
Atlanta had a 4-2 lead going into the bottom half of the seventh inning, but DeKalb sent the game into extra innings after plating two runs to tie the contest 4-4.
Atlanta scored three runs in the top half of the tenth frame and held off a comeback attempt by DeKalb after the Lady Bears scored two runs.
Gabby Petrofsky was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, Anna Davis was 3-for-4 with a double, Kalissa Reliford had an RBI, Carlajah Adger hit an RBI single; Tori Clayton had two knocks with a ribbie, Gabby Arredondo hit a single and both Aleesha Parkman and Kinlee Hamilton had two hits apiece.
On Apr. 12, Atlanta beat New Boston 3-1 as Gabby Arredondo gave up just two hits over seven innings and struck out five.
Tori Clayton was on fire from the dish on Senior Night as she hit a solo homerun and a triple, Kinlee Hamilton added an RBI and Keirsten Underwood posted a single.
Linden-Kildare Tigers On Apr. 12, the Tigers lost to McLeod 6-0 as Kannon Dempsey tossed a 1-hit shoutout.
Dempsey struck out seven batters over seven innings and from the plate was 2-for-3 with a triple.
Dylan Bouchard hit a single, Austin McCallister hit an RBI single, Kason Cook posted an RBI, Jaxon Smith recorded a double with two ribbies and Jacob Foster hit an RBI single. Maysen Lemmon was on point for L-K as he gave up only two hits and struck out 10 over five innings.
The bullpen got tagged for six runs in the sixth frame and L-K’s lone hit was by Lemmon.
On Apr. 13, the Tigers bounced back for an 11-4 win over Maud. Peyton Foreman struck out six and Hugh Tyson sat down three from the hill. Maysen Lemmon was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Max Belford was 3-for-3 with two ribbies, Keegan Surratt added a single, Foreman hit an RBI triple and Tylton Surratt was 4-for-4 with two RBIs.
Lady Tigers
The Lady Tigers dispatched Avery 23-1 in four innings on Apr. 11, and notched its fourth win in a row in the process.
Ashlyn Lee hit a grand slam, Allie Watson was 3-for-3 with two doubles and five RBIs, Kalysa Roberts added two singles, Karma Montoya posted a single with three ribbies, Hannah Wall recorded a hit with three RBIs, Ally-Jo Dixon hit an RBI single, Olivia Stewart hit an RBI single, Lacy Johnson added a ribeye and Sophia Hampton hit an RBI single.
On Apr. 12, the Lady Tigers beat Harleton 12-4 and won its fifth consecutive game.
Ada Whatley scattered eight hits over seven innings with six strikeouts. Kalissa Roberts was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Kaycee Neville was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, Ally-Jo Dixon hit an RBI double, Hannah Wall hit a 2-RBI double, Allie Watson hit an RBI single, Olivia Stewart hit a single and Lacy Johnson added an RBI single.
Queen City
Queen City’s softball team won its ninth and tenth consecutive games last week as they beat Redwater and DeKalb.
On Apr. 12, the Lady Bulldogs topped DeKalb 10-1 as Trinty Oden struck out 13 while giving up just two hits over seven frames.
Oden was 3-for-4, drove in two runs and hit two solo homeruns and a double from the plate.
Lauren Carrell was 3-for-4 with a 2-run homerun, Serenity Oden hit a double, Brenna Turbeville, Mallori Stringer and Laurel Moore hit RBI singles and Paitynn Weeks added a single.
On Apr. 13, the Lady Bulldogs blanked Redwater 14-0 as Trinity Oden pitched a 1-hit shutout.
Oden struck out 11 from the circle and has 210 strikeouts on the season. From the plate, Oden hit her third homerun in two games, this one was a 2-run shot, Brenna Turbeville hit two doubles and drove in two runs, Mallori Stringer hit a double and drove in two runs, Serenity Oden hit a single, Makenna Hamilton added a single, Laurel Moore hit an RBI single, Lauren Carrell hit a single and drove in two runs and Bailee Black, Kelsey Nash and Keeli Mainer hit singles.
