Atlanta Wins Titles

Queen City places second

Atlanta hosted the district 14-3A track meet on Apr. 3 and 4. Atlanta swept all three divisions and earned district titles.

Queen City was runner-up in both the varsity boys’ division and varsity girls’ division.

Atlanta Varsity Boys

In the 100m dash Braylin Rowe and Jaden Riley placed 4-5 with times of 11.43 and 11.52 respectively; in the 200m dash Cooper Swanson placed second at 22.66; in the 400m dash Andrew Allen placed fifth at 55.24; in the 100m hurdles Sye Stroman placed first at 15.86 and Marquavion Owens placed fourth at 18.01; in the 300m hurdles Stroman placed first at 40.67, Marquayvious Richardson placed second at 41.30 and Owens placed fourth at 42.29; in the 800m run Chris Swanson placed first at 2:03.36, Allen placed third at 2:07.12 and Ian Bard placed fourth at 2:08.61; in the 1600m run Chris Swanson placed second at 4:52.08, Ethan Scott placed third at 4:56.73 and Bard placed fifth at 5:04.37 and in the 3200m run Swanson, Scott and Bard placed 2-3-4 with times of 10:45.53, 11:06.11 and 11:15.86 respectively.

Atlanta swept the relays as the 4x100m relay team of Cooper Swanson, Kayden Linwood, Rowe and Eli Riojas placed first at 43.69; the 4x200m relay team of Cooper Swanson, Linwood, Riojas and Richardson placed first at 1:31.40 and the 4x400m relay team of Linwood, Riojas, Stroman and Richardson placed first at 3:31.73.

In long jump Owens and Riley finished 1-2 with marks of 20 feet, 8 1/2 inches and 20 feet, 6 1/2 inches respectively; in high jump Aidan Boston placed first at 6 feet, 4 inches and Rowe placed fifth at 5 feet, 10 inches; in triple jump Owens placed first at 43 feet even; in discus Kameron Williams placed fifth at 108 feet, 9 inches; in shot Williams placed fourth at 42 feet, 2 1/2 inches and Kheaton Kinney placed fifth with a toss of 40 feet, 1 1/2 inches and in pole vault Chris Swanson placed second at 11 feet even.

Varsity Girls

In the 100m dash Chatoya Hurd placed first at 12.42 and Makaylin King placed third at 12.97; in the 200m dash JD Larry placed first at 25.71, Hurd placed second at 26.06 and Gracie McWilliams placed fourth at 27.60; in the 400m dash Markavia Garner placed second at 1:03.05, Jaliyah Gordon placed third at 1:04.14 and Serenity Duckett placed fifth at 1:07.17; in the 100m hurdles Kym Sheppard placed first at 16.31, Ryleigh Thompson second at 17.24 and Amelia Jones fifth at 17.88; in the 300m hurdles Sheppard, Jones and Elliana Edwards placed 1-2-3 with times of 49.34, 50.77 and 51.35 respectively; in the 800m run Lucy Ransom placed first at 2:32.49 and Abby Morales placed fifth at 2:47.19; in the 1600m run Aurelia Giesler placed first at 5:47.52, Ransom placed third at 5:56/11 and Ella Stewart placed fourth at 6:03.24 and in the 3200m run Ransom, Gielser and Emma Allen finished 1-2-3 with times of 13:04.00, 13:10.23 and 13:48 62 respectively.

In long jump Toya Hurd placed second at 16 feet, 2 inches and Hanner placed fifth at 15 feet, 1 3/4 inches; in shot JD Larry placed third at 35 feet, 6 inches; in triple jump Kym Sheppard placed first at 33 feet, 6 1/2 inches and in high jump Caitlynn Bailey placed first at 5 feet, 2 inches and Elliana Edwards placed fourth at 4 feet, 9 inches.

JV Boys

Atlanta’s JV boys’ team won the district title with 181 points.

In the 100m dash Kaleb Francisco placed first at 11.79; in the 200m dash Haruto Tomita placed second at 25.14; in the 400m dash Landon Thomas placed first at 55.92 and Kason Byrd placed second at 56.21; in the 300m hurdles Francisco placed first at 46.31 and Christian Warren placed third at 48.59; in the 800m run Grant Allen placed first at 2:12.38 and Owen Flint placed sixth at 2:26.22; in the 1600m run Campbell Autrey placed first at 5:11.83, Allen placed second at 5:18.90 and Cass Clark placed fifth at 5:44.39 and in the 3200m run Autrey placed first at 11:18.81, Allen placed second at 11:41.17 and Braden Tolbert placed fifth at 12:47.54.

The 4x100m relay team of Francisco, Omariea Kinney, Derrick Talton and Cobi Wells placed second at 46:83, the 4x200m relay team of Kinney, Talton, Wells and Warren placed fourth at 1:40.97 and the 4x400m relay team of Thomas, Talton, Warren and Byrd placed first at 3:47.19.

In long jump Thomas placed second at 16 feet, 6 3/4 inches and Jaden Smith placed fifth at 16 feet, 3 inches; in triple jump Thomas placed third at 36 feet even and Kaigen Lloyd placed fourth at 35 feet, 6 1/2 inches; in discus Jaylen Finley placed second at 95 feet, 5 inches and in shot Lloyd placed fourth at 32 feet, 7 inches and Zamarian Ivery placed fifth at 32 feet, 6 1/2 inches.

Queen City Varsity Boys

In the 200m dash Charlie Campbell-Kirkland placed fifth at 23.49; in the 800m run Isaac Thomas placed sixth at 2:14.33; in the 110m hurdles Trevonne Horsley placed third at 17.43 and in the 3200m run Timothy Brady placed fifth at 11:16.86.

The 4x100m relay team of Delvon Federick, DJ Henson, Nickolas Herring and Campbell-Kirkland placed third at 43.86; the 4x200m relay team of Federick, Henson, Herring and Daketrick Smith placed second at 1:31.95 and the 4x400m relay team of Hunter Parker, Federick, Henson and Smith placed second at 3:34.81.

In long jump Trey Jones placed third at 20 feet, 6 inches and Daketrick Smith placed sixth at 19 feet, 10 1/4 inches; in triple jump DJ Henson placed second at 41 feet, 9 1/2 inches, Smith third at 41 feet, 3 1/2 inches and Delvon Federick sixth at 38 feet, 4 1/2 inches; in high jump Jones placed third at 6 feet even; in pole vault Isaac Thomas placed third at 11 feet even and Jeremiah Henderson placed fifth at 10 feet even; in discus Levi Byrum placed first at 144 feet, 10 1/2 inches and in shot David Jackson placed second at 44 feet, 4 inches.

Varsity Girls

In the 200m dash Ava Norton placed sixth at 28.65; in the 400m dash Serenity Oden placed fourth at 1:05.17; in the 100m hurdles Lola Gladden placed third at 17.75 and Mallory Hamilton placed fourth at 17.82 and in the 300m hurdles Gladden placed sixth at 55.78.

The 4x100m relay team of Jamecia Cook, Brooklyn Garner, Makayla Wilson and Oden placed fourth at 52.62; the 4x200m relay team of Kerian Thomas, Norton, Dori Sasser and Garner placed fourth at 1:54.00 and the 4x400m relay team of Cook, Sasser, Garner and Oden placed third at 4:24.83.

In long jump Brooklyn Garner placed sixth at 15 feet even; in high jump Serenity Oden placed fourth at 4 feet, 9 inches; in discus Grace Alexander placed second at 114 feet even and Makenna Hamilton placed fifth at 98 feet even; in triple jump Dori Sasser and Garner placed 2-3 with marks of 33 feet, 1/2 inch and 32 feet, 8 1/2 inches respectively and in pole vault Reagan Hargrave, Ava Norton and Kaylin Griffin placed 2-3-4 with marks of 8 feet even, 8 feet even and seven feet, 6 inches.

JV Boys

In the 100m dash DJ Parker placed fourth at 11.93; in the 400m dash James Gladden placed fifth at 58.80; in the 800m run Gladden placed third at 2:23.01 and in the 3200m run Dion Metzger placed sixth at 13:19.94.

The 4x100m relay team of Malaki Richardson, TJ Guest, Parker and Kamron Andrews placed first at 46.54; the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed second at 1:40.91 and the 4x400m relay team of Gladden, Richardson, Guest and Andrews placed fifth at 4:08.83.

In long jump Parker placed third at 16 feet, 5 inches; in triple jump Javon Andrews placed first at 39 feet, 6 inches; in high jump Kam Andrews placed first at 5 feet, 10 inches and Tavon Andrews placed fourth at 5 feet, 4 inches and in discus Kordell Federick placed third at 93 feet, 2 inches.
