On Jan. 4, both Atlanta and Queen City powerlifters took part in the Redwater Boys’ Tri-Meet. Redwater won the event, QC was second and Atlanta was third.

Queen City

In the 132’s Caleb Kimble placed first with a total lift of 675 pounds, in the 148’s Isaac Thomas placed fourth with a total lift of 795 pounds and Wyatt Peacock placed seventh with a total lift of 690 pounds, in the 165-pound weight class Trenton Treadway placed seventh with a total lift of 780 pounds, in the 181-pound weight class Delvon Federick placed first with a total lift of 1,310 pounds, Christian Nard placed second with a total lift of 1,135 pounds and Kanyon Compton placed fifth with a total lift of 760 pounds, in the 242’s Ke’Idie Harrison placed second with a total lift of 1,215 pounds and Jameson White placed eighth with a total lift of 455 pounds, in the 275’s Daniel Jones placed first with a total lift of 1,450 pounds, Tyson Bell placed second with a total lift of 1,175 pounds and Bryant Breach placed seventh with a total lift of 705 pounds and in the 308-pound weight class David Jackson placed second with a total lift of 1,300 pounds and Riley Newkirk placed fourth with a total lift of 975 pounds.

Atlanta

In the 165’s Darryk Prounh placed second with a total lift of 1,085 pounds, Austin Phelps came in third with a total lift of 1,010 pounds and Liam McKinney placed eighth with a total lift of 770 pounds, in the 198’s Charles Tyson placed third with a total lift of 785 pounds, in the 220-pound weight class Ty Waldon placed third with a total lift of 960 pounds and Gavin Trim placed fourth with a total lift of 905 pounds, in the 242’s Wesley Kennedy placed third with a total lift of 1,185 pounds and Tevin Thursby placed sixth with a total lift of 1,005 pounds, in the 275’s Marcellous Kirk placed fourth with a total lift of 1,080 pounds, Curtis Sellers placed sixth with a total lift of 995 pounds and in the 308-pound weight class Jaylen Finley placed third with a total lift of 1,150 pounds.

Queen City’s boys’ powerlifting team took part in the FCA Liftoff hosted by Texas High School on Jan. 20.

There were 30 schools represented and the Bulldogs finished seventh overall. Schools represented were QC, Atlanta, Texas High, Sabine, Henderson, Harleton, Mount Vernon, James Bowie, Tyler Legacy, Ore City, Jefferson, Daingerfield, Overton, Marshall, DeKalb, Pittsburg, Waskom, Maud, Hughes Springs, Liberty-Eylau, Mt. Pleasant Chapel Hill, New Diana, Redwater, Linden-Kildare, Tyler, Wolfe City, Clarksville, New Boston, Mt. Pleasant and Pollok Central which is near Lufkin.

In the 132-pound weight class Caleb Kimble placed fifth with a total lift of 705 pounds and Kingston Boyter placed 12th with a total lift of 510 pounds, in the 148’s Isaac Thomas placed 14th with a total lift of 790 pounds and Wyatt Peacock placed 20th with a total lift of 710 pounds, in the 165’s Charlie Kirkland placed 19th with a total lift of 885 pounds and Trenton Treadway placed 30th with a total lift of 750 pounds, in the 181’s Delvon Federick placed second with a total lift of 1,295 pounds, in the 198’s Christian Nard placed 10th with a total lift of 1,120 pounds, in the 242’s Ke’Idie Harrison placed 12th with a total lift of 1,245 pounds and Jameson White placed 36th with a total lift of 525 pounds In the 275’s Daniel Jones placed first overall with a total lift of 1,500 pounds, David Jackson placed ninth with a total lift of 1,255 pounds, Tyson Bell placed 13th with a total lift of 1,195 pounds and Bryant Breach placed 25th with a total lift of 745 pounds and in the 308’s Riley Newkirk placed 12th with a total lift of 985 pounds.

Both Delvon Federick and Daniel Jones are ranked second in their weight class.
