The Cass County Fitness Center for a third time participated in a community drive to help others. On Wednesday, a food bank truck from Harvest House arrived to pick up donated food the fitness center had gathered from its members. “It’s our way of giving back to the community” center general manager Monica Beeman said.

Trinity Church of Atlanta functions as a year-round food bank called Harvest House. For its part, the fitness center has participated in community support activities during the last three years of ownership by Eric Lummus. Beeman takes responsibility for the center. In past years, the center has participated in drives for clothing and blankets.

“Last year, we collected over 500 blankets,” Beeman said.

Beeman said the local gym will be ready next year for another round of support.

“It makes a nice item for everyone to see and talk about when they come in,” Beeman said.
