Genealogical society meets Nov. 9

The Cass County Genealogical Society will meet Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023 at their monthly Membership Meeting.

At our November meeting our Guest Speaker will be C.C.G.S. Member Cathie Maley reading a letter from a Civil War Veteran You don’t want to miss this interesting and in-formative program.

The meeting will start at 12:00 noon, lunch will be served at 12:30 pm and the program will start at 1:00 pm, and we hope that as many of you as possible will join us for this program, and please feel free to bring a friend.

The meeting will be held in our usual location, The Fellowship Hall of The Methodist Church of Queen City at Marietta and Fourth Streets, Queen City, Texas.

As always we will serve a light meal and beverages and the public is always invited.

The Mary Daugherty Senior Citizens Center is open all week for anyone who would like to join the group there for bingo, exercise, crocheting and a meal.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday exercise is from 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by bingo from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and eating from 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

On Tuesday crocheting is from 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by bingo from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and eating from 10:45 to 11:30. On Thursday bingo is from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by eating from 10:45 to 11:30.

Every third Friday of the month they have “Birthday Friday” where they celebrate birthdays and have cake for those present. That normally begins at 10:45.

Alamance Baptist Church

Alamance Baptist Church welcomes Dr. Loyd Scott Nov. 12-Nov. 15th. The Sunday service begins at 6 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday the services begin at 6:30 p.m. The church is located at 1100 CR 4679 in Atlanta.
