Queen City
On Sept. 12, Queen City’s volleyball program swept Hooks.
After losing the first match 25-21, QC’s varsity squad reeled three straight wins by scores of 25-9, 25-15, 25-15.
Sophomore Dori Sasser and Junior Brenna Turbeville carried the team behind the service line with 13 points each. Senior, Lauren Carrell added 10 and Mallori Stringer chipped in nine.
The JV1 team won 25-20, 25-18 with Makenna Hamilton posting 12 stellar service points and Laurel Moore adding six.
The JV2 team won 25-17, 25-12 with Mallory Hamilton putting up 12 dynamic jump serves and Ava Norton adding seven of her own.
On Sept. 19, the Lady Bulldogs traveled to Redwater and continued its dominance as all three teams won.
The varsity team won 25-14, 25-18, 25-12. Dori Sasser carried the team with 15 service points, Mallori Stringer added 10 and Brenna Turbeville scored nine.
The JV1 squad won 25-22, 27-25 with Laurel Moore scoring 10 service points and Taylor Ward and Gracie Alexander adding five each. The JV2 team won 25-14, 25-11 behind Reagan Hargrave’s 13 service points and Ava Norton’s 11. On Sept. 22, the Lady Bulldogs kept its district record clean with a 3-1 victory over rival Atlanta.
QC won the first frame 25-11 but Atlanta battled back to win the second game 25-20. From there the Lady Bulldogs won the final two games 25-18, 25-19 to win the match.
Kym Sheppard had 17 kills for the Lady Rabbs, Carlajah Adger had 24 digs and both Makaylin King and Jaliyah brown had three aces each.
Atlanta
On Sept. 12, the Lady Rabbs swept Redwater in three sets 25-12, 25-25, 25-20.
Kym Sheppard and Jaliyah brown each had seven kills apiece, Makaylin King added four kills and had 13 points, Ziza Garcia posted four aces with 13 points and Carlajah Adger added three aces.
On Sept. 19, the Lady Rabbits torched Dekalb in three sets 25-14, 25-15, 25-17. Jaliyah Brown and Kym Sheppard each had 10 kills apiece and Madison McCoy posted 12 points.
