Queen City earns district win over Elysian Fields

The Queen City Bulldogs ended four years of frustration as they defeated the Elysian Fields Yellowjackets 34-13 last Friday night.

The Bulldogs were led by Delvon Federick’s 138 yards rushing. Federick, who missed last week’s game with Clarksville, returned with a vengeance, scoring on runs of one yard and five yards and twopoint conversions.

Hunter Parker passed for one touchdown and ran for another. Parker connected with Rylee Green on an 18-yard completion. The final Bulldog score came on a 1-yard run by Messiah Grundy.

Queen City earned 22 first downs while the Yellowjackets claimed nine.

The Bulldogs racked up 410 total yards with 274 of those being rushing yards. Queen City’s defense held Elysian Fields to just 158 total yards.

The win raised the Bulldogs’ overall record to 4-1, but more importantly, gave them their first district win.

Elysian Fields fell to 0-5 overall and 0-1 in district play. The Bulldogs will be idle next week. Elysian Fields will host Waskom next Friday night.
