Recently, rains returned to Cass County. Here, about a week ago, rain clouds were forming over Lake Wright Patman at about 7 in the evening. Residents eagerly awaited the shower.

Out along State Highway 43 near the town’s edge, the Square Deal framing shop has its display of flamingoes and wheelbarrows. No need ask why the two go together. It’s an artistic thing.
One will not find a prettier, more relaxing place to sit than this chair and bench at the Lake Wright Patman Dam and its visitor’s parking lot.The nearby tree makes for shady contentment as well.
Cass County has ponds. Many of them.This one at the Atlanta Sport Complex is a fine place to fish and one can walk the trails in the area as well see a baseball game.
Some towns may have better and bigger signs, but this one for the Atlanta Business Park should win some kind of award for beauty.

Atlanta, Texas, in Cass County has a reputation. It’s one that reflects that little town in Georgia by the same name.
The reputation is one for beauty. Atlanta and Cass County are a grassy green place to live with trees, ponds, cattle, smooth roads, good fences and comfortable homes. One enjoys driving around. It’s relaxing.
The area’s seasons -- summer, spring, fall and winter -- are most often mild. Its schools are good here. It’s churches plentiful. And if one wants to get away, there’s a state park to visit and a federal dam and lake to provide boating and fishing.
Life is busy here. There’s plenty of traffic and resources. One doesn’t need to leave to get food and supplies. Health is well cared for here. People are friendly. A resident of Atlanta does not envy neighbors in other towns. It’s not necessary to brag about being from here. One simply is pleased to admit it.
