Chandler earns Hall of Fame status

The Southern Arkansas University Department of Athletics has announced that it will add eight new individual members to its Sports Hall of Fame during an induction ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 6, in the Grand Hall of the Donald W. Reynolds Campus and Community Center.
The class will also be publicly introduced at halftime of the October 7, Homecoming game against Oklahoma Baptist.
One of those inductees is Atlanta’s own Jerry Chandler. Chandler burst onto the track and field scene in the Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference earning all-conference outdoor honors as a member of SAU’s speedy 4x400 relay team during his true freshman season of 1986.
