Seven weeks missing, still no leads

County law enforcement officials stated there have been no new leads on the whereabouts of a Douglassville man who went missing seven weeks ago tomorrow.

“There is nothing new,” Cass County Sheriff Larry Rowe said as he expressed sadness for the family, particularly Bob’s wife, Connie Ballard.

Fifty-six-year-old Bob Ballard went missing on April 27th.

Bob was driving from Douglassville to the feed store in Atlanta when his Dodge dually pickup got stuck in the mud at County Roads 2116 and 2118. Bob’s brother-in-law came to his aid, helping get the Dodge out of the mud, but it was then that they realized Bob had a blown-out tire.

Although Connie said she urged her husband over the phone to come home, he refused saying that he didn’t want to leave his truck and would just have his brother-in-law bring him a tire the following morning.

When Bob’s family came out that Friday morning they found the pickup, but Bob was nowhere to be seen. Connie said authorities came out and did a live search with family and friends riding horses, side-by-sides and even walking on foot where the woods are known to be thick. Still, they found no sign of her husband.

Connie and family members said that officials told them they pinged Bob’s phone and the data showed Bob was walking towards the area north of Douglassville around CR 2122 and Texas Highway 8 after his truck got stuck.

However, strangely enough, Connie found his phone in his truck and said she can’t see him walking away from the truck without his wallet or phone.

Heartbroken, Connie said she just wants to keep her husband’s face out there.

“I want him found,” Connie said. “It just doesn’t make sense. Where is he?”

Bob is 5 ft 8 in tall, about 200 lbs, with blondish grey hair and hazel eyes.
