Rabbs’ playoff drive ends against Tatum

Atlanta’s baseball team rolled into the Regional Quarterfinals after going 4-0 through the first two rounds of the state playoffs.

The opponent for the Rabbs was Tatum who finished its district slate undefeated and had taken down both Sabine and Winnsboro.

Atlanta had beaten Mount Vernon and district champion New Diana going into the fray.

The Eagles took both contests which ended the Rabbs’ season earlier than wanted.

In the first contest, Tatum won 8-2 although Nick Burden struck out six batters and Will Woodruff fanned two.

Jayden Riley hit a double, Woodruff had a base hit, Ty Graf added an RBI, Dex Ebarb hit a single, Easton Owens hit two base hits and Corbin farmer added an RBI single.

In the second game, Tatum won 4-2 after the Eagles scored two runs late to break a 2-2 tie.

Peyton Harrison struck out three batters from the bump, Will Woodruff hit an RBI double, Ty Graf hit an RBI double, and Easton Owens had a base hit.

Burden ended the year with an OPS of .811, 27 hits and 15 RBIs, Riley had a batting average of .370 with 20 hits and 22 RBIs, Easton Owens had an average of .333 with 23 hits and 18 RBIs, Dex Ebarb had a .352 average with 32 hits and 17 RBIs, Woodruff hit .349 with 37 hits, 14 RBIs and 13 stolen bags, Ty Graf had an OPS of .990 with 27 hits, 14 RBIs and 13 stolen bases, Peyton Harrison hit .365 with 38 hits, 21 RBIs and 14 stolen bases, Cooper Swanson had an OPS of .655 with 12 hits, Corbin Farmer had an OPS of .939 with 17 hits, Peyton Gaston had an OPS of .729 with nine hits, Brady Partain added eight hits and Brendan Clayton had an OPS of .866 with five hits.
