Lady Bulldogs notch Bi-District crown
Queen City wrapped up a District championship on Apr. 21, and then notched a Bi-District title on Apr. 29, after sweeping Mineola in two games.
QC outscored the Lady Yellowjackets 35-2 over the course of two contests.
Game One
The Lady Bulldogs came into this matchup having won 12 of its last 14 games.
QC put up seven runs in the first two frames en route to an 11-0 victory. Trinity Oden gave up just one hit in six innings and struck out seven.
From the plate Brenna Turbeville had two hits with two RBIs, Serenity Oden added three hits with two doubles and two ribbies, Laurel Moore posted a base hit, Keeli Mainer added a single, Jacey Cauthorn had two hits with two ribeyes and Erica Lavoie had two hits with a triple and an RBI.
Game Two
QC looked to put away Mineola with a game two win and did so with a huge 24-2 stomping of the Lady Yellowjackets.
The tally was a mere mortal score of 10-1 going into the seventh frame where the Lady Bulldogs went all “Hulk” on the Lady ’Jackets and plated 14 runs.
Trinity Oden scattered six hits over six innings with eight strikeouts and Serenity Oden pitched an inning of relief.
Brenna Turbeville had an RBI single, Serenity had two hits with a double and two RBIs, Trinity hit her 14th and 15th homeruns on the season, both 3-run shots, hit a single and tallied eight RBIs, Mallori Stringer had three hits with two RBIs, Laurel Moore added four hits with a double and three ribbies, Kelsey Nash had two hits with a double and a ribeye and Lauren Carrell posted four hits, with two triples and three RBIs.
In the Area round of the state playoffs the Lady Bulldogs will take on White Oak with game one set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall.
Game two will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 5, in Tatum and game three, if necessary, will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, at Marshall High School.
