Extension Agent Ferguson announces resignation

John Ferguson, Extension Agent the 4-H & Youth Development/Cooperative Extension Program for the Prairie View A&M University and Cass County Extension Office has announced his resignation.

In his letter on March 27, 2023, to his immediate supervisor (Dr. Draw-Hood), he said, “it is certainly with mixed emotions that I hereby announce this resignation. As Extension Agent – CEP in Cass County, Texas since February 15, 2012, this could not happen without serious consideration and deliberation, especially with my immediate family.”

His last day will be April 28, 2023. “At the end of this (tenure), as Extension Agent – CEP I truly want to convey my appreciation to you all (the Prairie View A&M University, the Cass County Judge’s and Commissioner’s Court, the Cass County 4-H Youth Development Program, the various School Districts, and the four Precincts of the Cass County population).

“I am truly grateful for the opportunity afforded me for professional development and growth in my career as an Extension Educator. More recently, however, an opportunity for further growth and professional development has arisen and I have decided to take on this opportunity. I will continue my current program activities and plan to make this transition as smooth as possible leading up to the time of my departure.”

“Thanks, for the various experiences and the opportunity to be of service to you and to give back to my Alma Mater in contributing my educational expertise to ‘Make the best Better’ for the families and youths in Cass County and the Ark-La-Tex region.”
