Atlanta’s baseball squad played a makeup game on Mar. 27, against Paul Pewitt and seared the Brahmas by a count of 21-3.

The Rabbs scored four runs in the top of the first frame and had a 4-1 lead going into the third inning.

Atlanta plated 15 runs over the next two innings to put the game out of reach.

A box score of 21 runs off 22 hits is exactly what a coach likes to see out of their team.

Will Woodruff had four hits with a triple and four RBIs, Nick Burden had three hits with a triple and two ribbies, Peyton Harrison had two hits with a double and two RBIs, Jaden Riley had three hits with a dub and two ribeyes, Dex Ebarb added three base hits with three RBIs, Easton Owens had two hits with two RBIs, Corbin Farmer posted two hits with an RBI, Peyton Gaston added an RBI single, Chris Hale had an RBI and both Ty Graf and Brady Partain hit singles.

From the mound Woodruff scattered three hits and struck out six batters in just three innings of work, and teammate Eli Stevens gave up four hits in two innings with two strikeouts.

On Mar. 31, the Rabbs blanked rival Queen City 17-0.

Will Woodruff struck out seven batters in four innings and Eli Dryden struck out three in two innings of relief.

Peyton Harrison hit a double and had four RBIs, Woodruff added four base knocks and had three ribbies, Ty Graf hit an RBI double, Dex Ebarb hit a single, a double and had an RBI, Jaden Riley hit a single, a double and had six RBIs, Corbin farmer hit a double and Cooper Swanson had two base hits with a ribeye.

For QC, Clayton Whittenberg, Rylee Green and Mason Stringer each hit singles.

Queen City

Bad weather the week prior forced many teams to set up a Monday game. Queen City’s softball team was one of those who played on Monday, Mar. 27, as they took on New Boston.

The contest ended after six innings of play as the Lady Bulldogs caged the Lady Lions 17-2.

Trinity Oden gave up three hits with nine strikeouts from the circle.

From the dish Brenna Turbeville had three hits with two RBIs, Serenity Oden hit an RBI double, Mallori Stringer added two hits with two RBIs, Jacey Cauthorn posted an RBI, Trinity recorded two base hits, Kelsey Nash had two hits with an RBI, Laurel Moore had a hit with two ribbies and Erica Lavoie hit an RBI single.

On Mar. 28, the Lady Bulldogs added another “W” to its record as they shutout Paul Pewitt 15-0.

Trinity Oden and sister Serenity combined for a 1-hit shutout from the circle.

From the plate Brenna Turbeville had three hits with two doubles and four RBIs, Serenity Oden had two hits with a triple and four ribbies, Mallori Stringer added a double and four RBIs, Jacey Cauthorn had a hit, Trinity Oden hit her 11th homerun of the season, Kelsey Nash added a double, Laurel Moore hit a homerun and a double and had a ribeye, Keeli Mainer had two base hits and Erica Lavoie had a hit.

On Mar. 31, the Lady Bulldogs extended its winning streak and stayed perfect in district after topping Atlanta 12-0.

Trinity Oden pitched a 1-hit shutout and rang up 11 batters in the process. Oden also hit her 12th homerun of the year and brought in four RBIs.

Jacey Cauthorn and Mallori Stringer also homered for the Lady Bulldogs while Lauren Carrell and Serenity Oden doubled.

Kelsey Nash smacked a single and Serenity brought in two runs, Stringer brought in three and Cauthorn brought in one.

Anna Davis had Atlanta’s lone hit in the contest. On Mar. 28, Queen City’s baseball team beat Pewitt 17-5. Rylee Green and Nic Herring pitched well from the hill and all Bulldog batters in the lineup hit the baseball hard and generated plenty of runs.

Linden-Kildare

On Mar. 31, the Linden-Kildare Tigers’ baseball team edged state-ranked Rivercrest 5-4.

The Tigers went up 5-0 after a big second inning and held on for the victory over the Rebels.

Jayden Hemby singled on the first pitch of the at bat, which scored a run.

Maysen Lemmon led L-K to victory on the pitcher’s mound. The righty allowed six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out six.

Tylton Surratt and Kyler Fitts entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Surratt recorded the last five outs to earn the save for the Tigers.

Logan Hankins went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits.

“All glory to the lord. Thankful for blessing these kids in their efforts,” Head Coach Sean Baskin remarked. “It’s been a tough two weeks just missing the mark each time, but things made a turn in the right direction. Proud of This team and their fight.”
