Martinez family celebrates Texas Independence

The Martinez family organized an event on Friday to celebrate the Texas Independence sponsored by STAR “D” FARM. David Martinez from Linden felt it was important as a native Texan to promote Texas and all its rich and proud history. Also, his family wanted to share that remembrance and celebration with the Cass County residents.

“Our 1st Celebrate Texas Independence was a Hugh success!” says Martinez. The event included free Texas Red Chili and a 30-minute fireworks show along with great fellowship.

“I want to thank everyone who took the time to come and join us. We hope that next years will be bigger and better,” said Martinez. The event had roughly 40 adults and 16 kids in attendance. A special Texas Flag was donated to the event by Texas House Rep. Gary VanDeaver. It was then given away at the event to Melissa Shores.
