Atlanta, Queen City tracksters compete in Marshall

Atlanta and Queen City track members competed in the Maverick Relays at Marshall High School on Feb. 18.

Atlanta Boys

In the JV 100m dash Easton Owens placed fifth at 12.33, in the JV 200m dash Asher Wells placed first at 23.62 and Carmello Henderson placed fifth at 25.24, in the varsity 400m dash Eli Riojas placed third at 53.07 and in the JV 400m dash Chase Kindred placed third at 56.88.

In the varsity 800m run Matthew Morin placed second at 2:08.37, in the JV 800m run Chris Swanson placed second at 2:16.51, in the varsity 1600m run Morin placed second at 4:52.04, in the JV 1600m Swanson placed first at 5:15.23 Andrew Allen placed third at 5:25.85 and Campbell Autrey placed fifth at 5:30.76, in the varsity 3200m run Morin placed second at 10:41.55 and in the JV 3200m run Swanson placed first at 11:18.42, Allen second at 11:49.87 and Autrey fourth at 11:50.44.

Easton Owens placed first in the JV 100m hurdles at 18 flat and Kayden Price placed fourth in the JV 300m hurdles at 46.34.

Atlanta’s varsity 4x100m relay team placed second at 42.75 and the JV 4x100m team placed third at 46.19, the varsity 2x200m relay team placed first at 1:29.96 and the JV 4x200m relay team placed fourth at 1:40.08, and the varsity 4x400m relay team placed second at 3:34.32 while the JV 4x4 relay team placed third at 3:49.10.

In field events, Caden Walker won the varsity shot put event with a heave of 44 feet, 5 1/2 inches, Carmello Henderson placed first in the JV shot put event with a toss of 40 feet, 5 1/2 inches, Jayden Riley placed second in the JV long jump event with a mark of 19 feet, 1/2 inch and Swanson placed fifth in pole vault with a mark of 9 feet even.

Atlanta Girls

Zariah Johnson placed fifth in the JV 100m dash at 14.30, Markavia Garner placed fifth in the varsity 200m dash at 28.38, Makayla Martin placed fourth in the varsity 400m dash at 1:05.63, Anne Marie Hanner cruised to a first place finish in the JV 400m dash at 1:06.13, Brooklyn Thompson placed third in the JV 100m hurdles at 19.96, Ameila Jones placed sixth in the varsity 300m hurdles at 53.29 and Ryleigh Thompson placed fifth in the JV 300m hurdles at 55.62.

Kaylon Partain rolled to a win in the 800m run at 2:29.91 and teammate Lucy Ransom placed fourth at 2:41.73, Ella Stewart placed third in the JV 800m run at 2:52.28 and Hanner sixth at 3:03.10, Ransom placed fifth in the varsity 1600m run at 6:05.40 and Aurelia Giesler placed seventh at 6:13.38, Ella Stewart placed first in the JV 1600m run at 6:25.02 and Hanner seventh at 6:59.00, in the varsity 3200m run Ransom placed fifth at 13:13.28 and Geisler seventh at 13:40.95 and in the JV 3200m run Ella Stewart completed the sweep as she dominated and won first with a time of 14:06.20.

Atlanta’s 4x100m relay team won first at 50.43 and the JV 4x100m relay team placed second at 54.77, the varsity 4x200m relay team placed first at 1:48.90 and the JV 4x200m relay team placed second at 1:58.52 and the varsity 4x400m relay team placed second at 4:21.72 while the JV 4x400m relay team placed second at 4:40.91.

In field events, Caitlynn Bailey placed first in varsity high jump with a mark of 5 feet, 4 inches, JD Larry placed second in varsity long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 7 inches, Keymya Smith placed first in varsity shot with a toss of 33 feet, 2 inches and Kambria Dickerson placed fifth in JV shot with a toss of 23 feet, 5 inches.

Queen City

In the varsity boys’ 400m dash Trent Granberry placed second at 52.51, in the varsity girls’ triple jump 2-time state qualifier Cassidy Johnson placed first at 35 feet, 11 inches.
