Queen City lifters compete in Redwater
Queen City’s powerlifting program took part in the Redwater Invitational on Feb. 9.
Caleb Kimble placed fifth in the 123-pound weight class with a total lift of 695 pounds, Wyatt Peacock placed ninth in the 148-pound weight class with a total lift of 735 pounds, Kaden Fincher placed third in the 165-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,120 pounds, Jaron Jaynes placed 10th in the 165-pound weight class with a total lift of 945 pounds, Timothy Brady placed 13th in the 165-pound weight class with a total lift of 820 pounds, Keegan Salers placed 17th in the 165-pound weight class with a total lift of 750 pounds, Christian Nard placed second in the 181-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,175 pounds, Kordell Federick place ninth in the 181-pound weight class with a total lift of 990 pounds, Kameron Wright placed third in the 242-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,260 pounds, Daniel Jones placed second in the 275-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,375 pounds and Tyson Bell placed sixth in the 275-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,155 pounds.
For the ladies, Brenna Turbeville placed fourth in her weight class with a total lift of 490 pounds, Zoe Breach placed eighth in her weight class with a total lift of 520 pounds, Erica Lavoie placed third in her weight class with a total lift of 680 pounds, Ruby McCasland placed 11th in her weight class with a total lift of 565 pounds, Keeli Mainer placed 14th in her weight class with a total lift of 520 pounds, Aubrie Kiser placed third in her weight class with a total lift of 770 pounds and Makenna Hamilton placed seventh in her weight class with a total lift of 635 pounds.
Those receiving medals were lifters who finish in the top 5 in each weight class.
Medalists for QC were Erica Lavoie, Aubrie Kiser, Brenna Turbeville, Daniel Jones, Christian Nard, Kaden Fincher, Caleb Kimble and Kamron Wright.
“All of these young men and women set personal bests and I’m proud of their hard work and dedication,” Powerlifting Head Coach Tommy Kimble said. “We have a chance to send multiple lifters to the Regional Meets.”
At the moment QC has the following lifters sitting in the top 20 (in their respective weight classes) in the THSWPA/THSPA rankings.
The top 12 girls qualify for the Regional meet at Eustace High School on March 3, and the top 10 boys qualify for the Regional Meet at Arp High School March 9.
The Regional Rankings for the QC girls - Aubrie Kiser - ranked fourth, Erica Lavoie - ranked seventh, Brenna Turbeville - ranked 13th and MaKenna Hmailton - ranked 13th.
The Regional Rankings for the QC boys - Christian Nard - ranked seventh, Kaden Fincher - ranked eighth, Daniel Jones - ranked ninth, Kameron Wright - ranked 13th, TJ Guest - ranked 15th and Caleb Kimble - ranked 17th.
