Atlanta lifters compete in Maud
Atlanta powerlifters competed in the Maud Invitational on Feb. 2.
Schools competing were: Queen City, host, Maud, Atlanta, Linden-Kildare, James Bowie, Redwater, Tatum, DeKalb, Harleton, New Boston, Liberty-Eylau, Harmony, Texas High, Waskom, Hooks, Pewitt and Daingerfield.
For the guys, Austin Phelps placed fourth in the 148-pound weight class with a total lift of 940 pounds, Darryck Prounh placed fifth in the 165-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,025 pounds, Kyle Gross placed second in the 198-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,350 pounds, Brendan Clayton placed seventh in the 198-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,065 pounds, Nate Hernandez placed 12th in the 242-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,135 pounds, Davonne Crocker placed fifth in the 275-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,230 pounds, Marcellous Kirk placed eight in the 275-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,035 pounds, Garrett Tilley placed 12th in the 275-pound weight class with a total lift of 915 pounds, Caden Walker placed third in the 308-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,300 pounds and Junior Hartmann placed fourth in the Super Heavy Weights (SHW) with a total lift of 1,045 pounds.
For the ladies, who finished in the top 5, Stephanie Alonzo placed 10th in her weight class with a total of 375 pounds lifted, Keirsten Underwood, Lizbeth Hernandez and Derronica Talton placed 9-10-11 in their weight class with total lifts of 490, 475 and 335 respectively, Brooklynn Thompson placed ninth in her weight class with a total of 525 pounds lifted, Anna Daniels placed seventh in her weight class with a total of 590 pounds lifted, Cha’Nya Clark placed second in her weight class with a total of 635 pounds lifted, Kambria Dickerson placed fourth in her weight class with a total of 560 pounds lifted, Yra’kyya Nard placed fifth in her weight class with a total of 505 pounds lifted and A’nessa Smith, Rylie Wilson and Ryleigh Paige placed 2-3-4 in their weight class with total lifts of 620, 570 and 525 respectively.
