AMS boys finish their season strong

The seventh grade capped off an undefeated district campaign by taking down Red Lick 26-18 on Jan. 31. Jordan Henderson led all scorers with eight. Deondrae Simmons, Hayes Highland and TJ Rainey all had five points. Noah Sheffield and Jaylen Henderson added two each. Breckin Wells provided valuable minutes and blocked three shots.

The Rabbits finished the year 13-1 overall, 12-0 in district, and claimed both district regular season and tournament championships.

The eighth grade Rabbs really started clicking over their last five games, going 4-1 down the stretch which included a season finale victory over the Red Lick Mustangs 36-26. Kaigen Lloyd was a force on both ends of the floor, scoring ten points and leading the team in steals and deflections.

Easton Patterson scored eight, while Dailen Collins and Kam Williams netted seven each. Jacolby Wells added four, while Landon Thomas and Jaylen Finley also provided quality minutes.

Coaches praised the effort of the team on the defensive end of the floor and were pleased with how the team showed growth over the last several weeks.

Both B games also went to the home team. 8B was a 27-15 final, with Cortez Johnson scoring eleven points for the Rabbs. Jay Smith added seven, Aiden Eason five and AJ Falls four.

8B finished their season with a 7-2 record.

7B was victorious 26-12. Filling up the box score for the Rabbs included: Menace Lloyd eight, Robert Ammons six, Tuff Navarro four, Breckin Wells three, Colt Engle three and Logan Johnson two.

7B’s win put them at 8-1 on the year.
