McLeod slams Harleton

Basketball

McLeod’s basketball program topped Harleton on Jan. 20. The boys won 61-22 and the girls won 4221.

Longhorns

McLeod took a 19-2 lead into the second frame of the contest and had a comfortable 35-5 lead into halftime.

The Longhorns outscored the Wildcats 26-17 in the second half to complete the 39-point obliteration.

Kannon Dempsey scored a game-high 17 points, Henry Teer added 10, Brennan Penny nine, Trenton McKnight eight, Jaxon Smith five, Jay Greene four, Jase Deaton three, Austin McGray three and Grayson Owens two.

The JV team beat Harleton 39-19 with Trey Gant leading the scoring with 10 points.

Lady Longhorns

The girls’ game was a little closer until the second quarter. McLeod had a 10-7 lead after one quarter of play but extended the lead to 21-10 at the break.

A 21-11 run in the second half finished off the route.

Kenslee Cross had an outstanding game as she recorded a triple-double with 16 points, 14 boards and 10 blocks, Reagan Mitchell added 10 points, Chassie Gryder had 10 points, Reagan Johnson had four and Jaci Armstrong two.

The JV team won 14-11.
