Atlanta DECA students qualify for State competition
Twenty-two members of the Atlanta High School DECA program qualified for state at the DECA District Competition held on Jan. 18 at the Region 8 Education Service Center in Pittsburg, Texas.
“I am extremely proud of our students and how well we performed overall,” sponsor Tyler Johnson said. “I was not surprised one bit by their performance. They are all uniquely gifted and motivated to be successful.”
The state competition will be held March 9-11 in Dallas.
Those competing are as follows: Individual Competitions - Ian Bard–Accounting Applications, Kyle Goodson–Automotive Services, Julia Daniels–Entrepreneurship, Tanner Cook–Entrepreneurship, Gage Whatley– Entrepreneurship, Presley Braley– Human Resource Management, Cassidy Caver–Sports and Entertainment Marketing and Landon Moore–Sports and Entertainment Marketing.
Team Competitions - Buying and Merchandising Team Decision Making - Anthony Hamilton and Carmello Henderson, Business Law and Ethics Team Decision Making - Kailee Ammons and Anna Davis, Marketing Management Team Decision Making - Emma Jo McCall and Lucy Ransom, Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making - Will Davis and Michael Dubuisson and Brennon Allen and Gavin McConnell, Travel and Tourism Team Decision Making - Kennedy Harrison and Jonathan Kennedy and Boston Graf and Amelia Jones.
