The 2022 Glow Run 5K managed 120 registered runners, with about 30 kiddos for the monster mile, according to Jill Crocker, Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce President.
“The 2022 Glow Run 5K and Monster Mile is a huge event for our area,” Crocker said. “As always, adjustments and changes to an event are inevitable, but overall (it was) a good event for everyone involved.”
Crocker issued a special thanks to all sponsors and volunteers for the fall family fun event: Sponsors included: Flint’s Furniture, HealthCare Express, Texar, AEP/Swepco, Christus St. Michael-Atlanta, Jeff Peace Financial, The Atlanta City Development Corporation, Genesis PrimeCare, Family Eye Care Clinic, Cass County Fitness, Billy FIncher Construction, Superior Realty, United Country Double Creek Land and Homes, TJ Bolt Construction, Awaken Nutrition, Chateau South, Frayed, The Eye Guys, Overcomers Nutrition, Kali Rushing Photography, Red Bird Cleaning, Caffe’ Crema, Motel 6, and HV Caver Inc.
Crocker said volunteers included “GT, Church, Amiee and Tobias Danial, Amazing Acres RV Park, Brookshires (water donations) , The Atlanta Texas Police Department, The Atlanta Texas Fire Department, The Atlanta Texas Public Works Department, Our Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce Board Members, family and friends.”
“It takes a village,” she said. “Our volunteers are incredible.” Crocker said to be on the lookout for future events, such as the 2022 Scarecrow Contest, currently underway. Deadline for entry is Thursday, Oct. 27 and to date there are only three entries.
Friday, RiverValley Tractor Customer Appreciation day will have prizes, food and games, she said.
On Nov. 10, Business After Hours is slated from 5:30-7 pm at State Bank.
“This is an opportunity for all chamber members to get to know one another and how we can work together to grow our businesses and our community,” Crocker said. “Wine from O’Farrell Country Vineyards will be available with snacks and prizes ... Thank you, State Bank, for hosting.”
Crocker said Nov 13th, from 1-5 p.m. downtown shops will be open with discounts, prizes and beautiful displays for the 2022 Holiday Open, while Dec 3rd will bring the 2022 Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade from 5:307 p.m. The parade will be sponsored by TEXAR.
“There will be a few changes in the staging area and regulations (for the parade),” Crocker said. “Please stay tuned as we are working diligently to make this year the best parade in all of Texas.”
The much-anticipated Holiday Maker’s Market is slated for Dec. 10th from 6-9 p.m., Crocker said.
“Applications will be available for vendors on Nov. 1st,” she said. “If you thought the Fall Maker’s Market was big... Just Wait.”
