Tigers fall to Big Sandy 20-8
Linden-Kildare has probably felt like it’s just one play from a game-changing occurrence that will put them over the top.
The Tigers visited Big Sandy last Friday night which is a team they played in district the past two years.
A young L-K squad has fought through adversity and couldn’t quite overcome the Wildcats as Big Sandy won 20-8.
Although the Wildcats had a 13-0 lead, that didn’t stop Nard from running the ball or connecting with Lane on pass plays.
Defensively the Tigers had nice stops by Nard, Jay Birmingham and Justice. Nard did secure two interceptions in the first half. In the second half George, Hemby, Lane, Kirkland, E. Mitchell, Belford and Birmingham made great plays on the defensive side of the ball.
Offensively, runs by Nard, T. Mitchell and Minson moved the ball for L-K and Nard connecting with Kirkland. Nard scored the only TD for the Tigers.
The Tigers rushed for 122 yards with a score and passed for 37. Nard rushed for 65 yards and had a touchdown and passed for 37 yards.
L-K faces Union Grove this Friday night with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
