Volleyball
On Sept. 6, Atlanta’s varsity volleyball team took on Liberty-Eylau and swept all three matches by scores of 25-19, 25-14 and 25-19. Kaylon Partain posted 33 digs, Carlajah Adger 13 digs, Ziza Garcia nine digs, Kym Sheppard recorded nine kills and four blocks, Amaya Williams-Young had six kills and two blocks, Jaliyah Brown added four kills, Rylie Pattillo had 10 assists, Annemarie Hanner had six assists and Madison McCoy posted six assists and two aces.
On Sept. 9, the Lady Rabbs kicked off district play with a win over Paul Pewitt. Atlanta lost the first set but fought back and won the next three. Carlajah Adger had 12 digs, Kaylon Partain added 37 digs, five aces and four kills, Amaya Williams- Young posted 11 kills and two blocks, Annemarie Hanner recorded eight digs and five assists, Rylie Pattillo had 10 digs, 24 assists and one ace, Makaylin King had seven blocks, Sabriiyah Young charted 10 kills and six digs, Kym Sheppard had 11 blocks and 11 digs and Ziza Garcia had 13 digs and three aces.
On Sept. 6, Queen City’s volleyball program traveled to Jefferson and came away with a sweep.
The varsity squad won 25-13, 18-25, 25-6, 25-17. Trinity Oden led with 20 service points and three aces, and Serenity Oden and Mallori Stringer both added 11 points each.
The JV1 team won 25-18, 25-15. Ruby McCasland led with 11 service points, Makayla Jackson added seven and Makenna Hamilton posted five.
The JV2 team won 25-20, 25-20. Ruby McCasland led with 11 service points, Amiya Young, Reagan Hargrave and Zoe Breach each had five.
On Sept. 9, Queen City hosted New Boston and the Lady Lions won in four sets, 23-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-20. Brenna Turbeville and Mallori Stringer both had 10 service points, Trinity Oden and Lauren Carrell each had nine kills and Jamecia Cook had seven.
