Queen City
On Aug. 22, Queen City’s middle school volleyball program traveled to Linden to take on the Linden-
Kildare Lady Tigers.
The seventh grade A team beat Linden with scores of 25-17 and 25-20. Whitlee Carrell posted nine points and Abby Brannon scored six.
The eighth grade A team fought hard but fell short to the Lady Tigers with scores of 25-23 (QC), 26-24 (L-K), and 25-10 (L-K). Lucy Kelton led with eight points and Bailee Black was unstoppable at the net with five power hits.
The eighth grade B team split with a score of 25-15 (L-K) and 11-9 (QC). Emerson Wilbanks was the top scorer for the Lady Bulldogs with six points.
On Aug. 23, Queen City battled Liberty-Eylau. The varsity team lost in three sets, 25-27, 21-25, 14-25. Trinity Oden had 10 service points, Jamecia Cook added eight kills and two solo blocks, Madison Bailey posted five kills and Mallori Stringer had five kills and 15 assists.
The JV 1 team won, 25-23, 19-25, 25-23. Keeli Mainer led with 16 service points, nine were aces and four kills and both Ruby McCasland and Kerian Thomas had four kills each.
On Aug. 26, Queen City’s varsity volleyball team hosted Rivercrest and dispatched the Lady Rebels in three sets, 25-14, 25-15, 26-24.
Serenity Oden led with 20 service points, Mallori Stringer had 34 assist and both Jamecia Cook and Lauren Oden had 13 kills each.
The JV 1 team won, 25-9, 25-11, with Ruby Mc-Casland posting 12 service points and Keeli Mainer and Kerian Thomas each recording three kills each.
