Cass County man found deceased at crash site

A Cass County man was found deceased at the scene of a motor vehicle crash on June 26. The scene was located on Highway 77, just west of Naples.

According to the crash report, law enforcement was dispatched to the area of the wreck just before noon on June 26. Once on scene, officers found a 2009 Volvo XC9 that had, for unknown reasons, left the roadway. The vehicle was found in a grove of trees to the north of the highway. The driver was found, deceased, outside of the vehicle.

The deceased was later identified as Theodore Adkins, 56 of Atlanta. Adkins had been reported missing out of Atlanta on June 20. The exact cause and time of the crash are unknown at this time.

Corporal Wayne Johnson, with Texas Highway Patrol out of Linden, was the investigating trooper on scene. The crash remains under investigation.
