Queen City STARS visit Disney’s Imagination Campus
Sixteen 10th, 11th and 12th grade members of the Queen City High School STARS program participated in Disney’s Imagination Campus during the last week of school.
In the interactive course, Physics of Disney Theme Parks, students’ curiosity was sparked by stepping into the shoes of Disney Imagineers as they explored how physics is applied to every element of the theme park experience.
Students worked in teams to investigate the role that properties such as Newton’s Laws of Motion, potential and kinetic energy, gravity, and more, play in the design and operation of popular theme park attractions.
Leadership the Disney Way provided participants the opportunity to explore the importance of Disney’s 5 Keys of Excellence that guide Disney Cast Members in everything they do. Participants were challenged through a variety of experiences focusing on effective communication and critical thinking.
Through hands-on learning and problem-solving scenarios, participants experienced the real-world application of these principles as they interacted with Disney leaders and discovered their own personal leadership style.
