Trammel’s Trace DAR presents youth citizenship awards

Each year the Trammel’s Trace Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution solicits nominations from Cass County teachers in order to choose students who best exemplify characteristics of leadership, dependability, and patriotism.

From these nominations, one eighth-grade student from each middle school is chosen to receive the DAR Youth Citizenship Award.

Kendall Rorex of Hughes Springs Junior High School received this award on May 16 from DAR members Greta Wright and Brinda Mandella.

Yadira Rico was presented this award at the Bloomburg Junior High Completion Ceremony on May 17 by Charlotte Evans and Cathie Maley.

Zamarion Frazier re ceived this award on May 19 at the Avinger Award Ceremony from DAR member Louella Vernon.

On May 19, Emma Jo McCall was presented this award at the Atlanta Middle School Certificate Celebration by Louella Vernon and Windy Addington.

Lynlee LeJeune received this award at Mae Luster Stephens Junior High School Awards and Advancement Celebration in Linden on May 24 from DAR members Louella Vernon and Mary Echols.

On May 26, Daketrick Smith was presented this award at the Morris Upchurch Middle School Eighth Grade Certificate Ceremony in Queen City by Traci Jones and Carolyn Addington.

This award was presented to Madison Blair at the McLeod Middle School Eighth Grade Ceremony on May 27 by Windy Addington and Mary Echols.

For more than a century, members of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution have dedicated themselves to historic preservation, promotion of education, and encouragement of patriotic endeavors.
