L-K track athletes advance to Regionals
Linden-Kildare’s boys’ and girls’ track programs took part in the 15-2A and 16-2A Area Track Meet on Apr. 20, at Cooper High School.
Varsity Boys
Asher Wells placed first and was named Area champion in the 200m dash, the 4x100m relay team of Wells, Charlie Kirkland, Daquavious Richardson and Jay Birmingham placed third and the 4x200m relay team of the same lineup placed fourth.
Jay Birmingham placed third in the 100m dash an fifth in long jump, Richardson placed sixth in the 100m dash and Kinson Eaton will travel with the team as an alternate.
Varsity Girls
The Lady Tigers took part in the 15-2A and 16-2A Area Track Meet on Apr. 20, at Cooper High School.
Linden-Kildare placed fourth overall with a point total of 68.
Madilyn Bynum placed third in the 200m dash at 29.01, Bynum and Ashtin Patterson placed 3-4 in the 100m dash, the 4x100m relay team of Rylee Burns, Bynum, Charis Minson and Patterson placed first at 54.23, Minson placed second overall in the quarter at 1:06.72 and Kyndal Fitts won the 300m hurdles at 53.07.
LaSonya Nard started the day in the field events with a winning throw of 34 feet, 2 1/2 inches in shot, Kaycee Neville placed fifth in shot with a toss of 30 feet, 11 inches ,Rylee Burns placed sixth in discus with a heave of 78 feet, 8 1/2 inches and Minson placed sixth in long jump at 14 feet, 3 inches.
First through fourth place finishers advanced to Regionals. Regionals will be at Springtown High School on Apr. 29-30.
