Ransom to be sworn in

The public is invited to attend the ceremony for Travis Ransom as he is sworn into office as Cass County Judge on Saturday April 30th at 2 p.m. by 5th District Judge Bill Miller. The ceremony will take place on the courthouse grounds outside the historic Cass County Courthouse and light refreshments will be served.

Ransom was elected in the March 1st 2022 primary election with 70.4% of the vote and faces no challenger in the November general election. Earlier this month the Cass County Commissioner’s Court appointed Ransom to fill the unexpired term of Judge Becky Wilbanks who is retiring at the end of April after over 34 years in County Government.

Ransom has served as Mayor of the City of Atlanta since 2017 and also serves as a Command Sergeant Major in the Army Reserve. In his civilian capacity he is an independent insurance agent for Offenhauser Insurance.
